3M™ Scotch-Seal™ Mastic Tape Compound 2229 is a thick, highly conformable, tacky mastic pad on an easy release liner that’s suitable for insulating, padding and sealing of objects that need to be protected from adverse environmental conditions. It withstands temperatures up to 90 °C. 3M™ Scotch-Seal™ Mastic Tape Compound 2229 is a UV resistant pad that features a rubber backing. It has good self healing properties after being cut or punctured. The tacky mastic adhesive of the pad adheres over irregular surfaces to provide excellent moisture resistance. It maintains its stability over a wide temperature range and offers good adhesion to metals, rubbers, synthetic cable insulations and jackets. It also provides corrosion protection to a variety of electrical connections, sealing ducts and cable end seals. Excellent adhesion and sealing characteristics to metals, rubbers, synthetic cable,insulations and jackets. For insulating electrical connections rated up to 1000 volts if over wrapped with vinyl or rubber electrical tape. Tape will not crack when subjected to repeated flexing. Can be used for sealing high-voltage cable splice and termination accessories for 90º C continuous operating temperature. Easy release liner. Material exhibits self-healing characteristics after being punctured or cut. RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
